Can one multifunctional design solution foster the various furniture needs of a festival? That was the challenge we set ourselves at summer school DORP 2017: the place for interdisciplinary research, experiments and sustainable innovation in the field of Circular Economy.

Puzzle Peace is a smart furniture design that consists of one system of ‘puzzle pieces’ with which diverse types of furniture (tables, seating, stages, bars) can be made. With this design solution we aim to optimise the use of material, space, time, finance and environmental impact of the festival while creating social opportunities and a unique experience at the festival. The design shows the user that more is possible with the same means, which makes it an interesting product for both festival organiser, supplier and visitor.
